Why would I get involved?
My Estonia is an opportunity - a time and place set aside for people to talk with others about things that matter to them - real worries and needs - and actually do something about them. Without having to join some party or stand for election to the parliament.
Rather than just complain about the government, the think tanks encourage us to take responsibility and action ourselves: to find ways for cleaning up our streets, to make places for all of our children at kindergartens, create new jobs, offer better support to one another through difficult times. These thoughts are just to stimulate your thinking. What's on your mind?
We hope that the think tanks are just the beginning of tens, hundreds or thousands more “Let’s Do It!”-style campaigns, all designed to make our lives better.
None us of can do it alone, but together we can do a lot. Come join us if you see a problem but aren't sure what to do about it. Come bring your concerns and ideas, and find like-minded supporters who will collaborate with you to do something positive for your family or friends, your neighbourhood - and to improve life in Estonia.
But the think tanks themselves are only the beginning. Our "Let's Do It" team will be there to give a hand to those who decide to take the bull by the horns whenever they can, be it May 1st or afterwards.
At 4 pm, as the think tanks close, we'll start recording ideas on our website so that anyone who wants to can look through them, add to them, leave their own comments and/or offer help.
In the weeks and months after that, we'll be inviting experts from a range of fields to review the ideas and chip in with their own recommendations. Wherever we can, we will also intermediate with companies and organizations who may be able to help us turn our ideas into reality.
The world has never seen anything like this! Let's show them how to do it!
